The Good Store

The Good Store, 363-367 Albany Highway (corner Leonard Street), Victoria Park.

Good Store? Great Store! Lots of knick-knacks and cool stuff for yourself, friends and family. And it all starts with the mat at the front door which sums up the place: The Good Store for useful presents.

Check out their website for their complete stock, which includes games, puzzles (3D historical ones!), foodstuffs, kitchen utensils, cool tools and toys.

The Zzzoolights Nightlights are truly amazing, especially the blue one below: it actually changes colour over time. And there are other animals to choose from. But can it get better than a softly glowing elephant?

Ross Cargill Chemist, Brownlie Towers Shopping Centre, Dumond St, Bentley WA

Ross and his wife Deanne are retiring and the business has closed down. They still have a lot of fixtures and fittings that need to be sold off as well as some items not as yet advertised.

Below are links to the Gumtree ads. The Gumtree ads give the contact and location details.

I've done a lot of maintenance programming (in Clipper 5.3 and other things) for Ross over the past eight years. He's a good bloke and both he and his wife will be sorely missed by all the folk in Brownlie Towers.

Ideal Lighting, 161 High Road, Willetton WA 6155

We bought some oyster lights from this place yesterday for a whopping discount. They're closing down so get in there while there's still stuff left.

According to the proprietor, who is retiring, the business was quite profitable and would suit an energetic couple. However, he couldn't find a buyer due, likely, to uncertainties in the current financial climate.

Pajeco - PAsta, GElato and COffee

This is "pajeco", my favourite coffee house in downtown Perth. It's in the Cultural Centre precinct between the Art Gallery of WA and the State Library.

The coffee is really good, as is the the gelato. I haven't had any of the pasta so far.

The coffee is roasted fresh every day and blended by a coffee-mad Italian called Antonio. That's him behind the counter.

I asked how to pronounce "pajeco"; was it "paheco" or "payeco"? It's actually "pajeco", from "PAsta, GElato and COffee" (with a bit or artistic license changing the 'G' to a 'J'.)

Aside from Antonio, there are three lovely young ladies who serve behind the counter: Elena (another Italian), Elizabeth (a French national) and Priscilla (from Mauritius.)
